Sandy posted some photos she took (well, her husband took) of the 40th reunion. My first thought was, "My God! Who ARE all these old people?!! I certainly hope I don't look that old, but chances are, I look that old, too. Lots of gray hair, lots of bald male heads, lots of belly paunches, and some faces that were easily recognizable. No trouble recognizing Sandy, Rhonda Gough, Kay Oxley, Inez Tannehill, Delilah Jones, Ruby Franklin, Donna Whitehead. I think I recognized Rufus Walsh and Omer Strong. Not sure about the rest.
I'm sitting here trying to eat some soup (Chunky heat'n'eat chicken gumbo), and I'm getting as much on my keyboard as I am into my mouth. Not a wise move, no doubt.
The movie last night was well done but frustrating. I don't think conservative Christians will be willing to swallow the argument, "So let's ignore Leviticus, and the problem will go away." It was still better than the 12-minute "You're going to hell" video that my religious student (next to whom I sat last night) posted on Facebook.
Face it, I am just entirely too cynical and full of doubt about virtually everything.
