It's been raining off and on all night, with more to come. I guess I won't go to Big Rapids today. I need to clean up my messy home office to get ready for the new semester anyway.
Esteemed Spouse spent the night at the hospital again with his mother. At least he's got internet access there. He told me last night on the phone that his mother had been "walked" for a bit, but she was dizzy and nauseated. She spent a good while sitting in a recliner during the afternoon. Her move to rehab is still scheduled for Friday, so he probably won't head for home until Saturday. I've got to be in BR all day on Monday and half the day on Wednesday, so we apparently aren't going to see much of each other before the semester begins.
Yesterday I noticed commotion across the street at the house next to Kevin and Jason's. When I peeped out the window, I saw a firetruck and an ambulance. Being nosy, I went out on the porch and saw the paramedics taking a stretcher out with the older man who lives there. I hope he hasn't had a heart attack or anything really bad, but given the frantic rush of the family to jump into their cars to leave to follow the ambulance--well, it probably isn't good. So sad. Here I am worried about not only my mother-in-law, but also my sister Sheila. Sally told me the other day that Sheila was having kidney trouble (blood in her urine).
Sally and Arthur were finally able to buy a used van that they can add a wheelchair lift to, for our ever-growing Amber. I'm so happy that they were able to swing it, now that Arthur works for the prison as a nurse. Sheila works there, too, but she's been home sick for a couple of days. Sally sounded good, more positive than usual.
I slept very badly last night. Too much coffee and tea. I was awake between one and four a.m.
