Contact from India

Out of the blue yesterday I got an email from a high-school friend, Rhonda, who now lives in India with her husband, an airline pilot. I remember Rhonda as a quiet girl. We didn't socialize much in high school, but we attended Northeast together as freshmen and started to hang out together. That's when I realized how much I liked her. However, she didn't attend beyond the first year. Apparently she married and had two daughters. It was wonderful to hear from her. She is now quite sophisticated, as one might imagine, but when we were in school together, I don't remember any great degree of high fashion sense. (Of course, I had NO fashion sense, so I wouldn't have been much of a judge!)

I still have no fashion sense and am not likely to ever develop any. How can a woman get to be 58 and still have no idea what to wear or how to accessorize it? If I had my druthers, clothing would be as simple for women as it is for men. Pants, shirt, shoes, maybe socks. I can far more easily select a necktie than a necklace. Heck, even getting underwear would be simple! Boxers or briefs. No worry about the hundreds of different types of panties and bras and camisoles and hosiery, etc.

Today's photo is of my mother and her brother, my Uncle Sherman, and me. I don't remember the date, but it's probably late 70s or early 80s. We are at Mama's house, and Aunt Denny (Uncle Sherman's first wife) is there, too. She's dying of cancer and is worthy of a blog all her own. I'll do that soon.
