get me down. Not really. I'm actually kind of happy that it rained, since my sinus headache finally went away. It's still raining and the wind is fierce. We're under a high-wind advisory, which will make my south-to-north drive to Big Rapids an adventure. I've often dealt with intense wind gusts on that drive, sometimes making me feel as if I was being blown off the road or into the other lane of traffic. The huge semi trucks worry me, since they can be blown over.
I'm hauling the oil heater up to my apartment, at the insistence of Esteemed Spouse. He feels it's safer than the little electric one. I agree, but I also know that it seems to take forever to heat up a space with the oil heater, and I don't like the way it pops and snaps as it heats up. Maybe I'll get used to it. People can get used to anything, right?
I didn't get much done this weekend. In fact, I got nearly nothing done except my laundry. And I didn't do that well, since I took the clothing out before the cool-down and so everything is wrinkled. In fact, that's a metaphor for life these days. The Today Show is on right now, and Hoda is talking about women's happiness. What really satisfies women? Hah. First, stop telling us how unhappy we are. We've got that one figured out already. Tell us how to have it all (snark) without giving up the important stuff.
One thing that would make me very, very happy. Not to have to load my car and drive for over an hour so I can spend most of the week away from my husband. Not to have to deal with all these stupid committees. Not to have to be observed again this week by a member of the tenure-track committee. Bleah.
