The leaves are in a rush to change colors and fall from the trees. My cat is heavily furred out. We are going to have one helluva winter, I suspect. Fall begins next week, technically, but here in the frozen tundra, it began a few weeks ago.
Yesterday we selected the granite we want to put in the kitchen. I have a tiny kitchen, but to get this granite installed is going to cost nearly $3000. Maybe I'd better look at the Corian again.... But the granite is just so beautiful. Decisions, decisions.
I have inadvertently missed Ellie's birthday. Being gone from home all week means I don't get things done on the personal level that I want to do. I hope she'll forgive me for being late with my heartfelt wishes for her many joyful returns of the day.
Stephen called from New Orleans. He and Heather are doing the tourist stuff. He was complaining about the heat and the rain. Hey, it's New Orleans. That's what it does.
My cousin Junior (Walt) who survived a liver transplant is now fearing that he has the flu. I hope not! That would not be good for someone with an impaired immune response. My Esteemed Spouse and I got our regular flu shots yesterday, but the swine flu shot is not out yet. My college is predicting about 200 cases. Let's hope they've overestimated the outbreak.
I put in so many hours from Monday through Thursday night that when the weekend rolls around, I'm exhausted. Nevertheless, I still have much to do. Sigh. As my late mother used to say, no rest for the wicked.
