Despite the heavy blowing snow, I roused myself from my warm apartment last night to go down to the planned reading by Ferris authors. I was next to last, as the luck of the draw would have it. However, it seemed to go well.
Boy, did it ever snow yesterday! It seemed that I spent my day yesterday raking snow off the car. First, I had to dig out the car in order to go to campus. Then I had to dig out the car to go back to my apartment. Then to go to the reading. Then two hours later, I had to do it again. Winter does provide me with odd little bouts of exercise now and then, I suppose.
I've got my observation by the department chair tomorrow. It does seem overkill to be observed each semester by the department chair AND by a tenure committee member. As my husband put it, if they found me performing poorly, then there would be justification for all those man and woman hours devoted to observations and write-ups and pre-meeting and post-meeting meetings. Got to have a meeting in order to have a meeting, and then we've got to have a meeting to discuss the meeting. Groan.
I brought a gazillion Krispy Kreme mini-donuts for my students on Tuesday. Ten boxes, with 20 per box. Most of them were consumed. I donated about 15 to the department, and no, I didn't eat a one of them. Even though they smelled so heavenly that I had to put them in the trunk in order to drive with them without fainting from the delicious smell. These donuts were their Saints win treat.
I think I'm going to gather myself up and head home. I've worked nonstop for hours (since 9-ish this morning), and tomorrow will be a long day. Tonight I'm going to watch a bit of tv and crochet a little and let my brain unwind.
