The new countertop (in Corian "black granite") looks marvelous, and I'm eager for the plumber to get here to install the faucets and the garbage disposal. We had to truck water in from the bathroom to make coffee this morning, so getting the sink back into commission will be nice. I'll post a new photo once it's all done.
I'm going to love having a real double sink again. That little tiny sink for the mere disposal of garbage was nice in that the other sink was extra large, but we just don't need a sink that large most of the time. What we do need is more counter space, and with this arrangement, we can put a small drainer in one side. That will free up more counter space for food prep and canister storage, etc.
I played a bit of hooky yesterday and left school half an hour early. I couldn't stand it; my curiosity was too strong. I had to get home and see my wondrous kitchen make-over. Later (if and when the plumber ever gets here and gets his work done), we can clean house and start Christmas decorating. It's probable that the new wreath I bought is an indoor-only wreath, but that's okay. It's got huge white magnolia-type flowers on it, and I'm going to add a white dove. I got a fleur de lis for the tree topper, but I want to decorate it a bit since it's kind of a shiny black metal, and that's not as pretty as I'd like. It would be hypocritical of me to put up a cross or a star or an angel, but I figure I can support Louisiana and the Saints and all things French with my fleur de lis.
I also want to finish my ribbon tree. I applied one row of ribbons at the bottom and then had to let the glue dry, so it's time for another row, moving up the cone like roofers shingle a house. I hope it turns out well.
Anyway, it's raining today, with a possibility of slushy snow tomorrow, but that's okay.
