I've had coffee and breakfast. I've had my shower. (I even shaved my legs and underarms, something I do maybe three times a year!) I've got a load of clothes in the washer and two more ready to be washed. The baby shower we were going to yesterday was actually scheduled for today, so we'll be heading over there soon. (My husband blames his department chair, who had announced that it was yesterday, but the email from the host/hostess said Sunday.) I took a photo (shown) of leaves on my deck. My Facebook friend and cousin-in-law Vickie had asked if leaves were changing, so I posted it for her.
There is still a little rain in the area. It rained all day yesterday, sometimes heavily, but usually just enough to be a drag. I didn't mind, though. It was a sleepy day. We talked to our older son for a while and napped and ate and read and caught up on some recorded tv shows.
Tomorrow is the anniversary of my father's death in 1988. The anniversary of my father-in-law's death (2002) is Tuesday. Today would have been my maternal grandmother's birthday.
I did get my hair cut on Wednesday, from the stylist I like. (She was there on a Wednesday for a change instead of Tuesday/Thursday.) We discussed maybe changing the style starting in the spring to let my hair grow a bit longer. Meanwhile, I was starting to feel like an out-of-control poodle with the pieces that were sticking out in their own little odd ways.
The burn on my lip is nearly healed. I noticed that the burned fingernail had turned brownish where the drop of boiling glue landed, so I cut my nail really short. There is a ridge of scarred tissue under the nail that I hope will come off eventually. I'm always so careful with the hot glue gun, in terms of where I set it down. Now I'll be more careful with how closely my hands come into contact with the glue itself! I don't want to burn down the house, but I also don't want to look like a steel worker with bits of scars from boiling spatters all over my hands and face.
I'm supposed to go to the dentist tomorrow at 9:15. Then I guess I'll head north to Big Rapids for my usual week of work.
