Home and happy and sad

It was a pretty stressful drive to get home. I encountered bad conditions about halfway back, and these conditions lasted until I was ten or fifteen minutes from home. The roads were icy and bumpy (frozen sand), and I saw two slide-offs. However, once I got near home, the sun had come back out (it was sunny in Big Rapids), and all was fine. Esteemed Spouse had done a snowblow of the driveway.

We went to pick up his new red Rav4 and to have a warning light on my Avalon checked out. Turns out the pressure in the spare tire was low. There were two other women waiting to have exactly the same problem checked. Hmmm....

The new red car ("Ruby") is quite nice, very high off the ground, but not so high it takes a ladder to get into it. It's really hot-looking, and I know it suits Esteemed Spouse. We went to the grocery store in it and enjoyed the little jaunt quite a lot. It seems to handle really well.

Simon is still weak and puny, with a very bony back, but he did allow himself to be held and cuddled and petted. Poor baby. I hope he is back to eating properly in the next day or so.

I'm exhausted and ready for bed. Just as soon as the sheets get dry, I'm going to fling them on and pile in. I go to bed so early during the week that still being up at 9:30 p.m. is an anomaly for me.
