Buying calendars

Yesterday we stopped by Office Depot and picked up the modem that will be installed in the apartment later today. I also picked up some calendars. Esteemed Spouse grows less and less interested in making the "family" calendars, with all the photos and birthdays and anniversaries on it, but no one else seems to want to do it. I also picked up a Hawaii calendar. Despite all the craziness going on with flying at present, we still plan to take spring break in that lovely island state. We've never been, and it still feels like a daydream, but Esteemed Spouse is handling all the plans and seems excited.

Today that dear man has gone with his two buddies to whack a few golf balls at the indoor driving range. Then he'll have lunch and gossip with them. Women do not hold a candle to my husband's group when it comes to gossip. He's promised to be back at one so we can drive up to Big Rapids. We're getting a lot of driving done in the Rav4, but the weather has been so awful, its lovely ruby red is salt-and-snow encrusted.

I'm also excited about going to the Popular Culture conference in St. Louis in late March. I've never been before, but I've always wanted to attend. And my boss will be happy that I've got yet another conference presentation on my c-v. I need to do some writing that gets published, but there are only so many days in the week.

I've also been worried about Marty Townsend. There has been no word about how she is doing, and I know I need to write, call, or email. There are things that cannot be noted on any calendar that are nevertheless "must-do's"--and keeping in touch with people is one of those things.
