Frustration!

The student who was to do the presentation did not show up last night, so we got a free meal and then went home. "Home" was the apartment, which was thankfully 66 degrees rather than 78 degrees. Not as warm as I'd probably like it, but I can augment with my two space heaters.

So I slept much, much better last night. However, now I don't seem able to get back home. It's sunny here in Big Rapids, but just a few miles south, there's a storm. They had four inches already in Grand Rapids. I've been advised by a colleague who just drove up from Grand Rapids to wait for a bit so that the traffic can clear (it was backed up) and so that the snowplows can get the job done. They actually closed Grand Rapids Public Schools today, a very rare occurrence. It's even supposed to snow in Houston today! What a weird world.

So here I am in my office, eager to go home and unable to leave just yet. I fear the weather will actually get worse rather than better, so maybe I should go back to the apartment and wait it out over the weekend. Grumble grumble.
