Back in Big Rapids

The icicle hanging from the gutter is smaller, there is somewhat less snow on the ground, and it's a balmy 37 degrees, but other than that, Big Rapids is still the same. The drive back was easy, very little traffic.

The news from Japan continues to grow sadder and sadder. It's hard to imagine living conditions there right now, especially with two nuclear reactors potentially about to melt down. What a devastating state of affairs for that noble country. I have taught so many students from Japan and loved them all. I hope that the death count does not grow as high as predicted: 10,000+. My heart cannot hold my sadness.

It was good to catch up with Ellie on her blog. I'm so glad her son appears to be safely out of harm's way in the Middle East. And it's great about the class she's taking. Fascinating stuff!

I envy her warmer weather. Spring will be many weeks in my future, despite what the calendar says. I'm having a hard enough time dealing with the time change. My cousin Walt says that every time he tries to spring forward, he falls. :-)

Guess I'd better get busy. I need to put my clean sheets on my bed and scrounge around for something for supper.
