Day Two

Another sunny day! To our west, the snow (lake effect) is piling up, but it's not affecting Kent County (yet).

The Esteemed Spouse and I are starting to grow more and more excited about our planned trip to Hawaii. There is so much to do and see that we can't figure out what to include and what to save for (hopefully) the next time. I've GOT to see the volcanoes. That's a must for me. He wants to go snorkeling. Both of us want to see Pearl Harbor (him more than me). I'd love to watch a sunset from Sunset Beach. I'm sure he'd love to play golf somewhere, but that seems a waste of a day to me. I'd like to go to a luau (spelling?) but I don't want to eat poi or roasted pig. I'd like to see one of the wonderful waterfalls, but mainly, I want to drive around and pretend to be Magnum PI or Jack Lord from Hawaii 5-0. :-) "Book 'im, Dano."

Speaking of Dano, our younger son Daniel will be heading to California in about a week to visit friends there. Our daughter-in-law will be heading, at about the same time, in the other direction, to a conference in Boston. Our older son says he'll stay at home and clean house. I'm glad that both my sons like to cook and don't mind housework. Men who think their genitals will drop off if they wash dishes--well, those are useless wastes of human DNA to me.

I guess we need to un-decorate the house now that it's past New Year's Day. That's always such a sad chore. Alas, it needs to be done.
