Finally. Friday. I've been up for a couple of hours, had a couple of cups of coffee, read my e-mail (most of it), looked at the catalogs that came in this week, and tried to wake up. It's easier when I'm in Big Rapids since I usually head for the shower not long after getting up. When I'm at home, the beloved spouse and I laze about and chit-chat and pet the cat and feed the squirrels. Nothing strenuous, that's for sure.
It was a lll-oooo-nnnn-gggg day yesterday. But a productive one, nonetheless. Four classes, one training session, much productivity. It felt good to get home, though, especially since my big toe was hurting like crazy. I'm trying to find a solution to my dilemma. I have to wear the surgical support knee-hi's that are tailored to fit my short legs because the over-the-counter ones are always too long and bind in places that cause me to fear getting another blood clot. I've been trying to find some that are toeless because the toe area is also compression, and my toes wind up overlapping and squeezing against each other all day. Last night I could hardly wait to shed the hose and massage my aching big toes, especially the left one. I've tried going without the surgical support hose, and my legs really tire easily. Maybe I need to start doing more with my exercise bicycle. The Esteemed Spouse reminded me that we'll be doing lots of walking in Hawaii and need to build up our stamina. True.
Simon was happy to see me last night. We've held several pet-a-thons since I got home. I miss him during the week, and he obviously misses me.
Today we're going to get the curio cabinet for my Wizard of Oz collectibles. Of course, we also need to finish putting away all the Christmas stuff. We un-decorated the tree and gathered everything into one room, but that happens to be the room the curio will go into. I'll take a photo or short video of it once it's up and filled with the collection.
Speaking of video, I very much enjoyed the video my friend Ellie posted on her blog of her son Paul. He's turned into an incredibly handsome young man, with his father's exotic darkness and his mother's height and slenderness. It's so hard to believe he's 23 since I've known him now for nearly 20 years. Wow.
I suppose I'd better get dressed and get busy. Much to do today.
