President Obama has picked the person I was hoping he would pick as the new Supreme Court Justice choice: Sonia Sotomayor (sp?). I'm thrilled that a relatively young Hispanic woman is probably going to be sitting on the nation's highest court. Of course, the conservatives are having their usual tantrums, but then, they'd protest if Obama picked Mary Mother of Jesus. (Let's not nitpick about her not having U.S. citizenship.)
My day has been a quiet but busy one thus far. The blogging with my students is working wonderfully, and already I feel much more of a connection with them than I ever felt with the other online classes. Now if I could just figure out a way to post video on LiveJournal. It never occurred to me that all blogs weren't alike, but I now have three, and all three are quite different, so much so that I purchased a copy of Blogging for Dummies. Blogger is by far the easiest of the three to use. I certainly don't care much for WordPress (it's so complicated!), and LiveJournal is easy to use, but so full of ads! Oh, well.
I'm feeling less crochety than I've felt for the last couple of days. Maybe it's been the peaceful house. That peace will shortly be shattered, though. Esteemed Spouse gave a midterm test today, and he's going to be grouchy because he'll have to grade it. He'll be even grouchier if rain keeps him from playing golf tomorrow. Notice I'm calling him "grouchy" whereas I labeled myself merely "crochety." He would definitely beg to differ. After all, he wasn't the one trying to pick a fight with the pit-bull lovers of Michigan! (I'm still right about those dogs, though. They are horribly ugly. They are the Mike Tysons of dogdom.)
I guess I ought not diss on poor Mike. What a tragedy involving his four-year-old daughter! How in the world could she have gotten so badly injured on a treadmill, I can't imagine. Poor little thing. It tears my heart straight out whenever I hear about a child being harmed in any way.
