Happiness is having a day as beautifully blue and clear and cool as today has been. It's noticing that flowers are blooming that weren't blooming two days ago. It's enjoying the antics of "my" squirrel as s/he evades the attacks of a robin who felt threatened. It's hearing (through her blog) that a dear friend has made a life-affirming positive change in her work environment. It's getting an e-mail about a new baby, born to a young woman who has survived cancer, and seeing in the accompanying photos one of the most beautiful babies I've ever seen. Ah, yes. It's been a good day thus far.
I spoke with both my sisters for a short while today. They both seemed happy and okay. My niece enjoyed her week at Shriner's Camp (no West Nile virus this year, thank goodness!), coming home with a crush on her camp counselor. That's what all sixteen-year-old girls should do, whether or not they have cerebral palsy.
I've been trying to lose some weight, and another happiness is that my blood sugar numbers are dropping significantly. Life is good. S.
