Yes! The bartender from Blue Springs, Missouri, has won Idol! David Cook certainly deserved the title. His rival, David Archuleta, was cute in a prepubescent way, and he could sing, but he completely lacked stage presence. His movements on stage were more wooden than Al Gore ever dared to be! I couldn't imagine him released long enough from his father's metaphorical umbilical cord to ever become himself as a performer. David Cook was by far the more professional performer, and despite being an ancient married woman, I have to say, Cook possesses the sexiest pair of eyes I've seen in a while. (Archuleta might have sexy eyes, too, if he'd ever open them long enough for anyone to see them!)
My husband and I were teasing each other that it was our votes that put David Cook over the top. We certainly voted dozens of times. But I doubt we made up the 12 million vote difference.
Okay, so Idol is over for the year. But tomorrow night, So You Think You Can Dance? begins again, and you can bet I'll be glued to the set, admiring the moves those kids can come up with.
