Helpful people

Some people are so helpful that they are annoying. Recently the technical folks at my school revamped the school's web site. In so doing, they messed up email and many other aspects of the site. I can't check anything--not my previous classes, not my pay information, nothing. The "helpful" men at the tech site responded to my email from my personal account by phoning. Repeatedly. Finally, they just gave up and told me I needed to call my departmental secretary. I'm not sure what that will accomplish.

I'm not a techie, but people who are should either be able to fix the problems they create or be able to explain better what has gone wrong, not just pass the buck.

While we were traveling down to the graduation, I entered grades on my son's computer with its 20-inch monitor; I realized I could see nearly all the spreadsheet, rather than bits of it. (And my monitor was 17-inch.) So hubby got me a 22-inch monitor (mainly so he could have my old monitor in addition to his own). However, this huge new monitor puts everything on one side. There's probably a way to center and enlarge, but right now, I have the same size images I previously had, just over on the left half of the screen. Now that's progress, she said sarcastically.

Bigger is not always better. In fact, sometimes it's just a bigger headache. S.
