My mother-in-law reports that Irene has improved and may be going home. That's a relief. They are going to have Home Health visit more regularly now since Carolyn can't get her mother to eat.
It's snowing hard today and may be doing so all day. I've begun (re)reading To Kill a Mockingbird for class. It's such a great book. I'll also show the movie. I've got a variety of media to keep them involved, but most of all, I want the students to talk to me and to each other about the issues we bring up.
One of my students in the evening class has emailed me with the news that she's having a tumor removed from her brain on the first day of class. She assures me she will be back in class in two weeks. Somehow, I doubt it, but she may surprise me. My classes are full, so I know it will be a busy semester.

The picture today is my son Daniel. He and his friend Daniel Isaac have a duo they've named Daniel (for obvious reasons). They play acoustic guitars/basses and sing songs mostly of their own composing. Last night they had a gig, and I'm eager to hear how it went. Dan will be moving into his own place at the end of this coming week, and I guess then I'll feel that his marriage is officially over. Check them out at www.myspace.com/thisframe/. I'll be happy to let Dan know what people think of their music.
I've got to get busy and finish my class prep, so au revoir.
