Just another manic Monday

Like the good little girl I normally am, I was back in physical therapy this morning. John fussed a bit because I wasn't there Friday, but I assured him that he would not have wanted me there, with my digestive issues that day. He did note that I'm up to 80 percent of normal function with my left arm/shoulder. To be honest, I doubt I'll ever get 100 percent out of that shoulder again, but even I know it's better than it would have been without therapy. Today they had me rolling a ball up a wall (among other things).

It's another cold day. My car thermometer showed one degree on my way to PT. Big Rapids got down to minus thirteen overnight. I may have previously mentioned that we've had only four hours above freezing for the month of January. Esteemed Spouse added a heater to our bedroom and one to the den. The one in the bedroom is the circulating oil heater, the kind least likely to catch things on fire. The one in the den is on the hearth in front of the fireplace, where it can warm our feet.

Yesterday the neighbor and his two little boys were out on the pond trying to ice fish. I'm not sure they succeeded in drilling a hole, but they had the equipment. As shallow as the pond is, it's probably frozen straight through to the bottom. I'm not sure what happens to the fish. Do they go into suspended animation?

I've got work to do for classes tomorrow, so I guess I'd better get to it.
