agony postponed

My department chair phoned this morning with the news that my interview might need to be postponed because of the weather. She was apparently trying to get in touch with everyone, but when she hadn't heard from them all, she made the executive decision to postpone the agony until Friday. The weather is supposed to be good (cold but clear), so that would be one worry off my mind. However, I wanted to get it over with, and clearly, that's not going to happen for another few days. She was anticipating school being cancelled tomorrow, but I doubt it will. Right now, the temperature is in the forties. It's been raining, so our basement is flooding. Somewhat later, the rain is supposed to change to snow, falling heavily through Monday morning. As the "new" cliche goes--it is what it is.

My cat is throwing up in the hall outside this room. Joy. I don't like cleaning it up, but I hate the sound of him doing it even more.

This morning on the Sunday morning program we watch, there was a story about a young Japanese writer who composes her books on her cell phone. If that can occur, then I should be able to compose a blog novel. Serialization was big once; it could be big again. I should give it a go. Of course, I don't have that many blog readers--hardly any, in fact. So it might take a while before I got up a readership. Heck, I would have time to write three or four novels before anyone realized I was writing one.

I still don't feel very well today--kind of achy and groggy. My blood sugar has been high, so I know that's part of it. Time to start taking better care of myself--I know. I can hear Ellie fussing at me even now.

Once Spring ever arrives, I'm sure I'll feel much better. There's nothing like walking in slush up to one's ankles to destroy the desire to live. Certainly, it destroys the desire to walk outdoors.

All I want to do is curl up with a good book and a cup of hot peppermint tea. I'll try my hand at writing that good book (passable blog?) soon. Dr. S.
