harassment

I'm being harassed online (on Facebook) by a young man who happens to be a cousin of one of my colleagues. I don't know how or why he has decided that I am the one he should attack, but he has definitely decided that I am his victim. He insists that it's wrong for a teacher to be liberal in the classroom. When I respond (rationally) to his attacks, he chortles that he's right and that my response shows that he's right. How do these mentally ill people manage to stay out of institutions? Even this young man's cousin has admitted that he's half a quart low. I hope he goes away and stays gone. Who needs that kind of insanity to plague their everyday lives?

I think the more religious a person is, the more mentally ill they probably are. It takes being a bit nuts to believe in something inherently unbelievable. And as far as I'm concerned, anyone who is deeply conservative is already pretty much a nut case. How, for instance, could anyone think the conservative agenda is "good" for America? It's deeply oppositional to everything our founding fathers stood for. This particular young man never provided any evidence of why he picked me to be the victim of his attacks. I'm not sure why he thought I represented the enemy. People like this boy are mentally ill and need to get as much help as they can get. Even his own cousin says he's a nut case. He's sort of like the kid who ignores the logical argument in order to say "I know you are, but what am I?!!!" (regardless of how appropriate or inappropriate the response might be).

I still wish I knew why he decided that I was the right person to pick on. I should have kept to my original instinct and ignored the idiot. I'll know better next time.
