Snow and cold

It snowed all day yesterday and more is in the forecast. My Esteemed Spouse is in Louisiana visiting his mother and brothers. Our two sons drove down to meet him there so they could visit their grandmother. She's the only grandparent they have left, so I think as they are getting older, they are realizing that they need to maintain some family ties.

But now I have no snowblower. Oh, yes, I have the machine, but no clue how to operate it, and with the pain in my shoulder lately, I don't think I could do it even if I knew how. I got out for a short while yesterday morning after my husband left for the airport, and I've walked out to the mailbox three times. In fact, I just put some valentines out in the mailbox. My feet are now cold and wet-feeling, even though I wore boots. I've been fighting off cold symptoms for days, so I hope this doesn't do me in.

It got so cold last night that the house doesn't seem able to get warm today. When I went downstairs, the temp was 63 degrees. I pushed up the thermostat, but I'm still cold. It's even cold in Columbia, MO, where Daniel lives, and in Fayetteville, AR, where Stephen and Heather live.

Heather's birthday is coming up. I hope my husband manages to get a clue or two for something to get her.

Sally's 50th birthday is also on the horizon. She looks older because of her health problems. I've gotten her a couple of cards (which is more than any of my brothers or sisters did for me when I turned 50).
