Geez, I have been doing everything EXCEPT writing my blog, it appears. It's been a hectic semester thus far. I've been working and reading. That's about it. Why do I deal with these OCD episodes, where I get hung up on doing one thing, and one thing only, for weeks, months, years? Lately I've been reading. I'm writing in my classes, keeping a journal with them, but for the most part, I finish classes (long days, indeed) and then get back to the apartment, eat a little something, and then tackle the next book in whichever series I'm reading.
I am having supper tomorrow night with NRH. She has told me she's looking for a roommate and asked whether I might be interested. It's kind of complicated, since she was only going to be here in BR for one year before joining her husband and family in another state. My husband and I both wonder whether her marriage is on the rocks. I hope not. They're a sweet couple.
The kittens are doing better together, though they tend to be a little more lively together than Stephen and Heather would like. Stephen told me today that if he fell over dead at the apartment without Heather being there, Eli would stand around and wail and cry, but Griffin would chew his face off. Apparently both kittens like gnawing at each other's faces.
I'm trying to help my nephew Tommy understand why his view of history is too limited. He is determined that ALL the Founding Fathers were Christians. I've tried to gently show him that he is mistaken. My FB friend LeRoy told me today that he has been dis-invited to a friend's home for holidays because he refuses to join hands and pray around the dinner table. He wrote a rather amusing little piece about the persecution of nontheists by theists.
I find it amusing when my students don't know the difference between "prey" and "pray." 'Nough said.
