Savannah died tonight, cuddled in the arms of her human mama and daddy, who will doubtless remember their 13th wedding anniversary as the worst they've ever had. We're all crying.

- I'm a newly retired college writing professor. I loved teaching, but it's time to move on and reclaim some of myself. I also love my husband, my two sons, my daughter-in-law, and some (if not all) of my other relatives.
