writers' group

We workshopped some of my essays today at Writers' Group. I got some good feedback, some useless, some irrelevant. No surprise. It does me good to have an audience, but I must confess to enjoying my thus-far audience-free blog. I suppose someone out there might have come across my comments by accident, but I haven't given the blog address out to many people, and I've rather specifically pointed out that I'm enjoying not having to worry about the input of readers.

I probably ought to attach some of my essays to the blog, and maybe one day I will. Right now, though, I've got a short story I'm working on (sporadically) that interests me more. I may have written myself into a corner with it, but that's half the fun.

It would be lovely to have all the time in the world to write. I truly am so tired that I could just fall over. At least my leg has stopped hurting the way it was doing this past week. I'm going to have conferences with my students this coming week, so I'll probably be about ready for the hospital afterwards. It takes a lot of emotional input to interact with them one-on-one. And sitting all day is always hard on me.
