foot torture

Today I was throwing away old catalogs that had accumulated while I was busy with school, and I came across one with these horrendously ugly wedge shoes. I was immediately reminded of the Chinese foot-binding images I had shown to my Women's Studies students. See if you don't agree:

Women today are nuts. Women have always been nuts when it came to so-called fashion. Women are even having toes cut off so they can fit their feet into shoes that were never designed to be walked in.
